Default 8700 and 4.2 code (rogers)

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everyone,

I've noticed that rogers has not released a 4.2 hand held code for there 8700r. I am wondering if I could get the rogers 8800 hand held code to load and work on a 8700r.

Any words of wisdom word be great.

Thanks

jlb

Nope; you can not get code from one family (8800) on to another (8700). Can't be done. However, I believe there are several threads on 4.2 already being available for the 8700. You can load them onto you 8700r.

From my experience it seems that only the platform from a different family will not work, but the apps are not a problem provided the platform is of a minimum level, i.e you won't be able to use any release of 4.2.1 apps without platform 2.3.xx.
