Default New Sprint BB user

Hi. As the subject line indicates, I'm a newbie. I purchased a used 7130e and am an existing Sprint customer. I had no problem activating my device with Sprint. I'm having a little bit of a problem. I'm trying to use my personal POP3 email accounts with the device. I subscribed to the Sprint plan that lets me have up to 10 devices. I tried to start the BB Internet Service from the Sprint site and it's telling me that the PIN number is already registered. I'm assuming the previous owner probably had his email set up the same way and already registered the device. Is there a way that I can get this cleared so that I could set up my accounts via the Sprint site? I dl'ed /bb desktop manager in the meantime. Can I use this program to set up my POP3 accounts?

Best thing is contacting the previous owner. If you can't do that you can contact Sprint but they sometimes aren't able to help you either. This can be a big problem when buying used BB's.

You will have to call Sprint to have the PIN cleared from previous owner, or have the previkous owner do it, but that is the only way. You setup your BIS email for your POP accounts at the sprint site as you tried, but you'll have to wait on the PIN to be unregistered.

Desktop Manager is for syncing contacts, memos, tasks and calendar, among other things, you can't setup your email there. Good luck with it, your issue is one of buying a used device, I hope you bought from a credible dealer/source and can get it fixed. If the unit has been reported lost or stolen you might have a problem.

Yes, you can set any POP3 account up on the BB.

To get the BB cleared, you will have to call Sprint and ask to speak with Blackberry support. If they do not transfer you, make sure they know that you have to get your Blackberry PIN released from the Blackberry Internet Server (they will have to delete the old user's account).

Thanks for all of the help. Just an update: I was able to contact someone at Sprint and they deleted the other user's account without any issues. I was able to set my email up and I'm on th way to becoming a better BlackBerry user.
