The 8800 will never work on Verizon Wireless, even if it's unlocked.
The 8800 is a GSM-only device, and Verizon Wireless uses a CDMA network.

Verizon Wireless just released the 8830, which started shipping this week (to business accounts, not sure about about personal). If you like the 8800, then your best bet would be the 8830 if you want to use Verizon Wireless.
