Default No Joy

John,
I followed each of the steps that you outlined in the post but no joy. I have the latest version of Desktop Manager. I downloaded the multilanguage version to my PC and installed it. I deleted the vendor.xml file and plugged in the device and opened Desk top Mananger but was not prompted to do an upgrade. Any advice on how I can get Desktop Manger to give me the magic prompt?

** TIME OUT, Jabxyz, what kind of phone do you have before you even bother continuing to try to install the new OS...??

Jabxyz, You can double click the application loader icon in the desktop manager, and it should load and then give you the option to upgrade (if you have not already figured that out by now).

If you need any other help feel free to ask and good luck, i am sure it works because i have done it as well

This will not work on the 7105t.

Anyone else have issues with Opera Mini after installing this? I've uninstalled and and reinstalled Opera several times.

It's not just you. Opera Mini doesn't work on OS 4.2 for the 7130g family.

It seems that all the 4.2.1 releases prior to .94 have problems with Opera. 4.2.1.94 allows Opera to work on the Pearl. My guess is that once .94 is released for the 7130 that Opera will work again. It's just a matter of if and when they release it.

as i asked in my post on the other bharti/hutch thread, can other folks chime in as to why they have all been waiting for 4.2?

what advantages do you see that are major selling points for you?

error message: "This system software is not designed for the connected device [A:0x00000043]" appears when I try to install 4.2 on my 7130c. I've tried the hutch and bharti versions, same problem. Any ideas?
thanks.

Newer release for 7130c/g (GSM) devices at AT&T's download site (http://wireless.att.com/bbdownloads). Click on the option for 7130g, not the 7130c.

That link doesn't work. Try this one for 4.2.1.96 for the 7130g/c. Be sure and click the link for the 7130g (even if you have a "c.")

Does Opera Mini work with this new version? I had previously downgraded because OM didn't work with an earlier upgrade.
