One thing I really like about the 8800 is its size.

I was thinking of getting one of these cases but my reservations are the additional size it adds to the 8800. Does it still fit in the "slip in" case from tmo?

Does anyone have one and would like to give an unbiased opinion?

Thanks,
Jeremy

To bad I didn't see this last week when I ordered my white silcon case. Will order this next after this one is dirty or discolored.

If it fits into the leather case that it came with then I would be very interested.

Thumbs down Grade D if not worse

this case is a total disappointment - do not buy this piece of junk (especially since $40 which IM (not so H) O is an insult if you really examine this 'made in china 'piece of cheap plastic. firstly, it does comes off right away: especially should your BB fall for any reason. it happened to me and the case popped off immediately as it hit they ground (both pieces went flying!) leaving my 8800 with two scratches. so what they're saying about 'maximum protection' is a bunch of BS. it is form fitting and it will (just) fit into the TMO holster but i think it would be overkill; i feel the holster protects your BB just as well, what's the point of getting this sleek device and then adding layers of bad looking junk around it? be careful with it and it will be fine. you'll be in line for the new model in a couple of months anyway. otherwise you probably wouldn't surf this site

i can just feel the SEIDIO salesman weighing in in about 3 seconds.

seriously, save your money - i am sure there must be a better product out there for that dear old 8800

My hybrid case/holster combo just arrived today and it is IMO excellent. Looks great and feels good. Add in Shieldzone protection for the screen and you have a great combination.

The case once installed is quite secure. When the 8800 is inserted it gives just enough tension to hold the clear portion securely in place and taking it apart would take a bit of work (dropping from an unspecified height notwithstanding).

The holster has a low profile, being much lighter and inconspicuous compared to the bundled case that came with my device. Once the BB is protected in the case it fits snugly and securely into the holster. Shaking the holster and it held true.

This is my first experience with a Seido product and so far I am happy. I'll definitely add more (good or bad) to my post as I get to use it over the next little bit.

Just got the Seidio rubberized holster for my unskinned 8830 and I must say it really is a nice product. It is very well made, my friends liked the holster as well (they're thinking of getting the holsters for their phones). Can't comment on the case though, I was thinking of getting the bundle but just decided to get the holster instead. I love it.

I got the hybrid for my 8830 and overall I really like it, it has taken two intentional spills without incident. Two issues though:

1) One of the corners 'flares' as if the plastic warped a bit, hope this doesn't get worse.

2) The openings for the power and mute buttons at the top seem a bit off. The buttons we still completely exposed but note remotely close to centered. Does the 8830 have slightly shifted buttons up there? They advertise this for the 8830 too though. -Pk

what is new in this hybrid case compared to SUPER SLIM RUBBERIZED HARD CASE FOR 8800/8830 - CSR2YBB8800-BK

and why is the old one the same price as the new one?

One is not a replacement of the other. The case referred to in this thread is a hybrid case. The back is made from our rubberized case while the back is made from our clear crystal case allowing you to see inside. It is designed to give you the better grip of the rubberized case, but still allow you to see through to your device's original color.

Thanks

My VZW 8830 w/ this case took a spill a few hours ago and beside some case damage there wasn't a mark on the phone, the case did almost pop off but held well enough. About all I can expect for something like this. I'm a happy camper with a functioning and undamaged phone. -Pk
