Incoming/Outgoing call help

I am completely new to the PDA scene and I have one issue I can't figure out.
I am using a BB 7290

When I was using my Razr Whenever I would type a friends number that has been stored either on the phone or SIM it would display his name instead of his number same goes for incoming calls.

Now, I have transfered all my contacts to my Address Book so thats done.
Now when I type a number of someone I know is in the Address Book it just displays the number I entered instead of the name corresponding in the Address book. Same goes when I receive a call from someone who is in my Address Book.

Now is there a setting or something I need to enable to have it do this?
This is pretty important and frustrating not having.

If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Go to Phone > Options > Smart Dialing. Make sure your "+1" is in the Country Code (are you in the USA?, the +1). Make sure your other contacts have the area code entered in their contact entry.

It should work. Pull the battery and reboot the device.

I went into there and that is already setup, my old Razr didn't need the numbers to have 317(my area code) in them to show the contact name.

Now to go back and manually add to all my contacts would take forever.

Also, I friend of mine had the same model but the blue color version and was able to enable Wi-Fi and use operamini to connect to his wireless home network.
Is that even possible? I have used his a long time ago and it worked like he said. I have not been able to do so I assumed "Wireless On" meant Wi-Fi.
I could just be mistaken, which sucks because I want to have wi-fi.

Hmmm, seems to be working now ;)
I feel kinda stupid.

Oh, this is a used BB, I can't seem to find the Browser icon anywhere. Also I have an option for Enterprise Activation. I have no idea what to enter for it to activate it.

I don;t have a internet plan with cingular and well don't want to pay for any access time that is why I was wondering if I could get around it with the wi-fi thing, this is my last question for this post I feel I am over rambling.

No BlackBerrys (currently) have WiFi. Your friend never had that.
You don't need an Enterprise Activation, that is for users on a BlackBerry Exchange Service.

You won't get a browser icon without purchasing a BlackBerry Data Plan from your carrier. No email, no internet, no data. You might get Opera Mini to work, and it might not work forever.

I see, thanks. You have been very helpful.
