Only the 7100 series can use ADP ringtones. Tons and tons of ringtones threads already.

For ringtones and other goodies, visit Blackberry Extras at http://mobileblackberry.com. They work great on my 7250.

I upgraded to a 7250 today...awesome!!!!
I went to: http://www.polyphonicringtonez.com on both my computer and blackberry, searched on my computer for what I wanted, and then downloaded on the blackberry by "Searching by ID".
Oh, and you can only play .mid files.

My bad, I actually went to the WAP version of the site http://www.polyphonicringtonez.com/wap it is a little quicker.
You actually punch in the number and follow the links. It will play in your Blackberry, and then you hit the options button in the browser, and it will give you the option to download.
Good luck!

Hey All,

I have tried many of the sites listed in this forum and to date I have been unsuccessful either getting to the site or being able to access ring tones. I am using a 7280 version of the RIM with the latest OS installed version 4.0.0.219. This is a GSM/GPRS model from Rogers Canada. Can anyone provide a step by step way to download/install any/all ringtones (ADP or MID). I have tried getting the WAP and regular browser and followed instructions from the varying locations in this forum and i am still unsuccessful. I thought perhaps i should join and ask for further assistance.

Help!

Your 7280 can only handle monophonic MIDI ringtones. You won't be able to use ADP files.

Which sites have you tried? What happens when you try to download MIDI files from the sites? Do they download OK, but not install properly? Do you receive an error while downloading?

Here's something you could try. Type this link into your WAP browser: http://davidenglish.com/wml/trim_phone.mid. Are you able to listen to the ringtone from within the browser? And are you able to save the file to your 7280?

Hey Again,

I tried your suggestion DavidE and it worked great. I was able to hear and save the MIDI ring tone at the location below:

http://davidenglish.com/wml/trim_phone.mid

Do you know of any other sites that work as clean and fast as yours? Or perhaps you have a selection of Ringtunes? Either way your assistance is much appreciated.

Regards,
nycetyme

Go to the http://mobile.blackberry.com site using your BlackBerry device's "BlackBerry Browser" or "Internet Browser" (not the WAP browser).
