Somehow my VZW 8830 is not disconnecting from calls. Twice in the last few days when I have finished a call and tried to dial another number, I get no response. Then when I go into my address book and select someone to call I get the option of "conference person X" instead of "call person x." I am able to receive calls normally but not dial out. The only solution I've found is to remove the battery and restart the device. Am I missing something collosally obvious or is there a problem with my phone? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I have not had this issue with my phone as of yet. Just make sure you're hitting the red end call key

Am having the same problem with one of my 8830s. Everything works great except with the phone as described by the original poster. We have several 8830s, but only one with this problem.

Called VZW for support and they offered to replace the device, even called local store to verify availability. New 8830 not available when we got to the store about 25 minutes later and need to wait until next week, so we don't know if this solved the problem.

Any other thoughts on what, other than hardware, might cause/resolve the issue would be appreciated. Thnx.

I have one 8830 that is having this problem also, happen 3-4 times yesterday. Has anyone figured this out or do I have to call tech support to get it replaced?
