I been looking at the Treo 650 but I just noticed the 7100G and actually people at Cingular said its better than tha Treo/Sidekick 2 and I also wanted to switch to T-Mobile to get the Sidekick 2. But I read that the 7100G doesn't support AIM (Aol Instant Messanger). Is this true? The main thing I want from the new phone I get is to be pimp looking, great bluetooth support for the handsfree headset thing and also something easy to text message and AIM people and even to surf the web and get on my forum and make posts when Im away. Also checking email is cool too. But is the 7100G good for this stuff? And if not, does anyone have anything else in mind I should get? Thanks a whole lot for your help!

there are many a messaging software for the 7100s, good support for headsets, join in. if you want to get t-mobile, do the 7100t, cheaper plan rate than cingular.

I would look at your coverage for the different carriers. We have Cingular here(Lincoln, Nebraska), with pretty decent coverage, but T-Mobile is non-existent.
I use a bluetooth headset, and sount quality is superb on my 7100g. I like the button placement better than the 7100T.
I also might add, the 7100g is "pimp looking" as you mention above

I agree. I just left TMO's network here in LA. It's horrible. VZW is still the best, but, as many have stated here, VZW's selection of phones sucks. I've only had my "phone" on the Cingular network for a few weeks, but compared to TMO- well, there really is no comparison. Sprint's network is supposed to be good as well. So I'd rank TMO last. Although I'm still getting used to the "sure type" kbd (I miss the full kbd but really wanted a speakerphone- not a big headset person), the 7100g otherwise is performing quite well so I'd say: go for it!

Cool, im going for it today. Im such a technology freak and whatever the latest greatest is, I get. Got so much stuff. One day I need to compile a list of all my gadgets. Cant wait to get it. Im sticking with cingular cause of my coverage back home in Louisiana is great too and I go home sometimes to visit family. In the air force. Thanks so much.
