I'm currently using a motorola h700 headset, and I've been noticing that I hear static from the headset when th handheld is just an armslength from my headset, and users regularly complain abou not being able to hear me well. Are these issues handheld or headset related? Are other people having bluetooth issues like this on their 8830s?

Thanks

Are you placing the headset on the opposite ear from where your BB is holstered? I have this issue if I put my BB on my right hip and put the headset on my left ear. But I can walk up to 10 feet away from the phone with no problem. I guess the body is just too much mass for BB bluetooth.

Default Same Static Problem

Yes, I have the same problem with static on the bluetooth headset if the handset is more than about 3 inches from headset. I also have problems with the ringer being too low and the service fluctuating from no service to full service.

Probably headst related. Your max distance can really be affected by the headset you're using. My Voyager 510 is good for at least 30 feet and the side it's on versus my BB doesn't matter.

So you are getting 30ft with an 88xx? I was suspecting it was headset related, and am probably going to be trading it in today.

I think that it might be a headset issue. I have a Jabra BT500 (i think) and it works great up to 30ft.

My JX10 does the same thing. If the device is 2 feet away it's fine. If it's on the other hip it has a few issues with static although it works. It is so noticeable I'm tempted to go with the Voyager. I had two JX10s and they both did the same thing.
