Default Browser Emulation on 8830

Please Login to Remove!

I was able to access Bank of America online once I set my browser emulation to Internet Explorer thanks to that BOA thread.

But can someone tell me are there any disadvantages to leaving the browser emulation to Internet Explorer? It seems like leaving it on this setting might allow me as a user to access more stuff while browsing the web on my BB.

But with all positives there are negatives. Does anyone know of any? Thanks!

I'm not sure it's a "negative", but I believe the emulation mode tells the site what your device is able to do. Maybe not THAT complicated, but, for example, I know some sites will recognize your BB Browser and will automatically route you to the WAP enabled website. Others aren't that "smart". ESPN is one that comes to mind. Although, even when I put it in IE mode, it still sees it as a mobile browser. SO, I guess I'm stumped.
