Angry OK I have a question about IM

Please Login to Remove!

Ok so I already posted the question how do you turn off hte sounds on the Instant Messanger for the 7100T. I called up T-Molbile Blackberry Customer service and after about 2 hours of run around I got to talk to to a person who new what I was talking about. He said that their is no way to turn off the sound that the ims make and worse of all my also vibrates as well. So when I explained this to him all he could say to me was that he did not know what to do about this problem. I think its ridiculous that this would be T-Mobile answer. I mean when I had my old S-105 phone I could leave Aol Instant messanger on for days on end no problem now I have to sign on and off and its really annoying. I also read on a post that their really and it didn't answer any of my questions so the question is WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THE SOUNDS THE INSTANT MESSENGER MAKES ON MY 7100T BlackBerry

Does any one have a descent solution to this problem

Do I need to download new messaging software, or maybe I need to get a new phone

Also as for the new instant messaging software is their any software that free and easy to use I don't want to mess up and have my phone get ruined.

Another question I have is that is their any way to download games on to the 7100t and are they're any sites that offer FREE games for the 7100t?

I saw a buch at t-mobile but I not sure it would be compatible with my 7100T

I dont think this pertains to the IM software that came with the 7100t, Im using verichat now. All I had to do was change my Profile to quiet, or vibrate and my IM doesn't chime in, there is an option to change the ringer/notification for verichat's active, background, and foreground messages.

OK come to think of it, the vibrate doesn't seem to be working, I got a few messages and didn't get notified.

As for games, I know there was a post on this forum about some, I downloaded a few pretty cool !

Default Still a brrrringing

Same question actually.

I can't get the built-in IM client to stop 'brrrrrringing' nor vibrating regardless of what mode it's in.

Anyone?

Thanks!

Cant do anything at all to the sounds the built in IM client makes. You have to get a new client. Either install ramble "free, aol IM only) or buy something like verichat or IM+. those are your only options.

I would recommend Verichat as it works with multiple mediums and is very robust. It does cost but it's only $20 a year or maybe $30. The cost covers their servers which must be up all the time. And the new version has these very cool "bots" that are extremely useful.

depending on what client you want to use, check out this post that i posted at howardforums

http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=654357

it shows a bunch of free IM clients, but you ahve to configure your TCP on the 7100t. if you get that working, please let me know, because i also have tmobile, but cant get the damn TCP layer to work...

this link has a few free games on it

http://www.rimroad.com/

here is a link to set up your TCP

BlackBerry Internet - MSN/chat/web/telnet/TCPIP - No BES!

hope all that helps... and PLEASE, if you get any of those working, let me know, because i cant.
