I concur. Stick with the AT&T OS - lower version, but a higher software platform version. =3

I could not get opera mini browser to work either on OS 4.2.1.90. What benefits come with the "higher software platform version"?

I thought this was old news.
Anything above 4.2.1.93 works again

Where did you get the .93 OS? I thought the latest one was .90, according to this link: Latest Operating System Available For Each Blackberry Device

Does the 8830 Verizon OS 4.2.2.66 work on the 8800?

No, two different device types. The 8830 is CDMA and the 8800 is GSM.

This is actually old news. It was addressed when the OS came out. People decided to go with the T-mobile OS that was just released for the 8800 after the Rogers was released. It fixes alot of the bugs and will allow for Opera mini to work. This is only a problem for the people that us Opera of course. Since I do not. I find that using the Rogers OS actually has made my phone work better then it did on the original Cingular.

Curious, in what way has it made your phone operate better?

My phone is operating better because I have not had some of the Uncaught JAVA errors that I use to get. I would always get this when I had my phone locked and had it set to lock when put into the holster. When I would unlock the phone I would have the error. I would also has a lag when I opened some programs. This has all been fixed by the Rogers OS update that I put onto the phone. This could only be my thoughts but it does work better for me.
