Default Difficulties saving appointments

Please Login to Remove!

Over the past several days, I have noticed that my appointments have stopped showing up in PocketDay. As a means to troubleshoot the problem, I tried changing the appointment i.e. adding a "1" to the end if the appointment. Occasionally, I am not able to save this changed appointment. I get the save changes dialog box but when I click on save, it doesn't do anything. I am able to discard changes. If I am able to save changes, it does not change the original appointment, but rather it creates a new appointment. I am very perplexed. Any ideas?

Same problem on a VZW8830, but just with stock applications. Not using Pocket Day on wife's BB and she can't edit / save certain appts. In addition, Dimension Today theme under Calendar is now showing appts several days ahead, but not the most upcoming appts for today or tomorrow. They do show up in calendar, but not in the theme. All this started after I sent the latest Service Books from BIS to her device on Thursday, June 14th.

Any ideas as to this weirdness???

I didn't notice a relationship between th new service books and the problem until I received an email from PocketDay support. They heard of similar troubles from the service books. They suggested deleting the CICAL service books and then rebooting. I tried that one time without success. I then rebooted a second time and all my appointments were gone. I was able to restore them from the desktop via Missing Sync and now everything works like a charm.

Hope this helps

To efk22:

Thanks for the tip. Again, my wife does not us Pocket Day, but she was having the same problem you were. If you don't mind, as we are new to BB, how exactly do you delete and restore the CICAL?

We are NOT currently syncing with Outlook due to the calendar database issue, but we DO backup the device through the Desktop Manager Backup / Restore tool. I gather her entire calendar database is in there, so if it gets wiped on the device it can easily be retrieved.

So, I guess first step would be complete backup through Desktop Manager. Then delete the file you specified; which is done exactly how? Then reboot and see if editing appts can be saved, etc. If database is gone, restore xxx file from Restore wizard?

My final question is wouldn't restoring that file from the backup put back in the same issue or is the calendar database a different file then then CICAL?

As you see, this is all new for me and G-D forbid I screw up my wife's BB; major dog house will ensue.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Jeff

I am on with VZW now and they said the CICAL service books has no relationship to the calendar. I am wondering as well since the file shows up next to my e-mail addresses.

Anyway, wiped and restored the calendar database and problem is still there. Trying to switch me over to BB support directly at RIM.
