Default Blackberry 8703e and google maps error...please help

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

i have the blackberry 8703e (new) and i have created a new bookmark for my internet browser Google Maps and i have downloaded the google maps version 1.5.3, successfully installed.

now when i try to start google map i have this error message:

Error starting gmaps $2d153$2dm2_L1:Module 'gmaps$2d153$2dm2_L1' has verification error 2831 at offset ad6e

do you know how to fix that ?

Got the same error myself. Pulled the battery and all that and still a no go. The Gmaps icon doesn't look right either :(

If you haven't yet, try deleting GMM and reinstalling. Some have had trouble installing upgrade without first deleting the older version.

I had the same problem yesterday.. the icon looked like a Windows prompt window, but after a couple of tries trying to connect, it finally did and the icon on the home screen fixed itself.

yeah but i don't have older version on my blackberry...it's a fresh install
i just got my blackberry this morning.

i've tried to uninstall and re-install without any success..

i will try severals times but it's very strange

still no luck...my icon still looks like a windows prompt..

and i still got the error message.

by the way...what's GMM means.. (try to uninstall and reinstall)

That's what I meant, and you have tried it.

Do you have APN set?

Also, looking at other old posts suggests this: Did you download with Opera Mini, or your BB browser?

GMM = google mobile maps

APN = access point name (see options / advanced / TCP ... Depends on your carrier...don't remember if it is needed for gmm)

I'm still gettting that stupid error.

I deleted the Gmm 1.52 restarted and so on (even did a few battery pulls). Sabrewulf, I too am with Alltel. You say that it basically just started working after a while?

i really don't know...

i can check with my company but it looks like other people are experiencing the same problem..

i will download the BB maps but i think it's not very good compare to google maps

mclement21, can you open general settings in security options? Under services, does it read no services, or something else? If something else, this may be your problem. If so and this is employer-issued BB, talk to your IT people.
