Default Transfer pics from camera to BB 8800 series?

Please Login to Remove!

Question for all ya technically inclined folks -

If you have a digital camera, can you transfer pics from the SD card (or rather, a microSD card via an SD adaptor) directly to the BB?

I'm trying my dangdest to cut out the laptop as middleman...LOL.

Happy Father's day for all those out there!

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do. If you are looking to "empty" the SD card on to the BB, there's not enough onboard memory on the BB to do you any good.

If you just want to view the pictures on the BB, you should be able to put the micro SD card from the camera in the BB and then use the explorer function of the media player to find and view them.

Give us a little more info as to your goal.

Craig.

I want to take pictures with my digital camera (microSD card with an SD adapter) & then put the microSD card inside the 8830 so I can view & email them. Possible?

It should be so long as the camera recognizes a card formatted to work in the 8830.

So it's up to the camera, then, as opposed to the onus being on the BB?...any idea how I can find out whether the camera can? I'll accordingly make a purchase based on whether it can or not.

Put the SD card from your camera in your BB or vice-versa and see if it works.

i used a bb8800-formatted 2G micro sd + sd adapter in my panasonic fx30. then popped it back in the bb8800 and uploaded photos.

i imagine that most cameras that take sd cards will work.

Default Access photographs on your BB

The way I have done it (which is probably the idiot's way) is to email the pictures to my blackberry then save the attachments to the device.

Yup, works fine with my Kodak digicam....just xfer from there to the 8800 and email.

However, you have to realize that the size of your normal digicam pic is in the megabytes range. That's a slow btooth xfer and an abysmally slow email send via EDGE speeds.

butter71 - whats the folder hierarchy in the fx30? I'm hoping, regardless, that the BB's explorer in media player can browse to the folder created in the camera...

Does your fx30 recognise the folders created by the blackberry?

I have a regular SanDisk 2GB microSD as well as a high speed SanDisk 1GB microSD for auto focus continuos shots...if this works, i'll get the soon to be released SanDisk 2GB microSD high speed card...
