For the last few weeks I've been having trouble with my broswer and some of the apps that rely heavily on the internet. My browser takes minutes to connect to most sites, including bbforums wap site, and apps like jivetalk are having trouble connecting. I'm on cingular and usually my 8700 is nice and quick. I recently upgraded to the latest 4.2, but the problem has been happening since before. Nothing significant has happened that I can think of that would have slowed the thing down. Any ideas?

Howdy. I'm assuming you've already done a hard reboot by removing/reinserting the battery....?

Wondering if Cingular has any tower issues in RI? I am in NH and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary, however, I am not a heavy surfer on the BB.

I seam to have noticed a slight drop in my connection here in greenville,SC since att has taken over. I used to get 5 bars in my apt, now I have to go out on the patio to get any signals. Cingular/att says no changes have been made to the towers but I find that hard to believe.

Now I'm curious....I have a user who was fine with his 8700c (on old 'blue' AT&T), but after I upgraded him to an 8800 (with new Cingular/ATT plans), his coverage has dropped significantly at his house. This is in West Michigan.

The funny thing about it is that my connection is still 5 bars most of the time. I'm in near Newport RI and the service down here is excellent usually. I am receiving emails and SMS fine, but my BB messinger and broswer are continually slow. The broswer works fine sometimes, but then suddenly gets horribly slow.

I'm thinking that maybe it could be a hardware issue?? I've have this particular BB for about 10 months and its taken some falls??

From what i know with "blue" att is that there was never an att blue gsm network in west michigan. Just Cingular, so i couldnt seeing the upgrade making a difference
