I am currently successfully using my BlackBerry 8800 with my 04 BMW 330i and am able to transfer my address book without any issues. However, I am having an issue with the caller ID on the radio when I have a call come in on the phone. For some reason I am receiving an asterisk in the name when it comes up on the display (standard business CD not NAV). For example if I have John Doe call me it will come up "* Doe". I do have the most recent software/os version (4.2.1.90) on my phone and have limited my phone book transfer to only one group and have checked all these contacts to make sure there are no unusable characters, but doen't help. I think this is a software issue but cannot figure it out. Has anyone out there had this same problem or know what the issue is? Any help is much appreciated.

FYI - I have also tried creating new people in my phone an isolating them in a separate group and then called from their phone and still the same thing * Doe. Still don't know what is causing this. I might go back to the previous version of Tmobiles software, just not sure.

Anybody out there seen this as it is really annoying?

I have a 07 Bemmer 328xi, standard radio no nav...with a 8800 from cingular, I am not running into that problem. When I get a phone call from a known number matching with my address book, it does display the correct name...overall, it works great.

I am not sure if this helps, as my radio probably differs from the 04 modell..I assume...

The TCU which is the main module that controls the Bluetooth is not the same as the new models cars that have Bluetooth. It is something that is you are just going to have to live with.

My 07 Coupe also displays caller ID perfectly. I am not sure on this, but the phone makes as much difference as the car probably does.

My old phone did not show the signal strength in the dash until I updated it to Windows Mobile 6. The 8800 showed everything from the start...

I have a blackberry 8800 from cingular with a software v4.2.1.72 (platform (2.3.0.54) and a 2006 325 i. I try to pair the phone to the car but it does not work? I had a Treo and a Motorola RAZR and they worked perfectly. Somehow the Blackberry cannot detect the car. Can any one help?

I have successfully paired and used my 8800 with my 330i (2004) but have a few issues I am still resolving. Try the following to see if it helps, turn off your transfer address book feature in your phone (under the options menu of bluetooth) and then limit it to your hotlist or a group. The bluetooth in BMWs has issues with more than 500 contacts I believe. Also, try clearing your bluetooth in the BMW first by holding down the button, after it enters pairing mode, for 10 seconds until you hear it beep or see cleared on the screen of the radio. Then try to pair the phone again. Good luck and PM me if you have any more questions or want some advise?
