Unhappy Vodafone Sim will not fit Cingular Blackberry 8800

Please Login to Remove!

I purchased a Cingular Blackberry 8800 in the USA, and I have a Vodafone account in Ireland, the problem is my Vodafone SIM will not fit, what can I do, are the Cingular SIM's a different size?

Are you sure you're sticking it in the SIM slot? The SIM slot is on the left-hand side. The slot in the middle of the 8800 is for the microSD.

Also, the Sim goes in facing down with the cut corner pointing out.

Nope --- SIM's are SIM's. You're probably trying to put it in the microSD slot as chrisb3 says (and a search would have lead to many threads asking the same question with the same answer). FYI - The SIM slot has a diagram right next to it showing you which direction the notch needs to face when you insert the SIM into the slot.

+1

What Takeshi said.

I have an 8830 and an 8800 and I just put the Vodafone SIM card into the 8800 and the AT&T SIM into the 8830. They fit with no problems.

Don't feel bad, I just got my 8800 and did the same thing and then realised that the port in the middle was for the microSD.

Glad you sorted it out. Enjoy your new toy. I know I am.
