I was tempted by the 8300 but after only a week or so, I am back to my 8800! Glad to be here!

I want details too. What's wrong with the 8300?

I did the same thing. Crippled GPS. Very low ringer volume. Terrible battery life. Verizon service is so superior in my area but they've really pissed me off over their crippling of Blackberrys. I and my staff also found slow email delivery. Check the time sent in the header vs the time arrived. Even on BES and to blackberry.net address.

He means the curve back to the 8800 from what I understand.

What, Verizone? NOT!

AT&T rules in my territory. Email arrives seconds after it is sent and I could care less about GPS. Ringer volume is fine just find another ringer. They are not all created at the same volume. Dump the rap shit and use ring5 so it sounds like a phone.

I simply found the 8800 more to my liking. After only a week the 8300 was getting dust under the screen on the right side. If it looks like that in a week, what in a month?

Might be the areas you live in or the device. I have the 8703 and been thinking about upgrading to the 8830. My 8703 has very fast email and I've never had any problems with freeze ups, low battery life etc. I use it constantly as I am on the road for business everyday. Maybe I'm just lucky to have had received a "good" phone.

Perhaps it's just a honeymoon, but I 've been pretty happy with my 8830 so far. I was at first hesitant because of the no GPS capability, but Verizon's coverage is very good - and I do have navigation systems in the car, plus one that's small enough (and lite enough) to fit in a shirt/jacket pocket.

And maybe it's just because I didn't own a Blackberry device previously (moved over from a Moto Q) or perhaps just because I have smaller hands - I don't find the keyboard all that difficult to use. Just lucky I guess.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Well, congrats and welcome to blackberry. I too moved over to BB in November and will never go back as long as they keep making devices like my 8703.

My 8830 email is super fast. It's almost unbelievable how fast it really is. BTW, I use BIS and my gmail account. Loving my 8830.
