Hello all. I'm brand new to the post and thought I would just dive in. I'm looking for a way to dial those phone numbers that are words. For example, If I was given a phone number of 1-800-ANTHONY, I need to know when using my blackberry to dial 1-800-268-4669.

Has anyone found a good work around for this? 3rd party software or some other fix? I found some information on the qusers forum for my wife you uses a Motorola Q. Looks like someone came up with a way of a having a graphic of the phone dial pad with the numbers and associated letters display on the screen when in phone mode.

I'm hoping for something as simple as that, or even better, just type the word on my qwerty keyboard when in phone mode and have the phone just dial.

No need for graphics and charts--much simpler on a BB.

Dial the letters by holding down the ALT key (lefthand bottom) and press the letters you need. Your BB will interpret the correct numbers

You should read the tips by Stinsonddog in my signature (below) for the 8800. Lots of tips and such there.
