Exclamation 7100i unlocking question

Please Login to Remove!

Have a quick question for you guys / gals. I am borrowing my g/f's 7100i (Nextel) that she doesn't use anymore (switched phones to sprint) and i wanted to use my simm card in it. I powered and booted up and the regular screen came up then it asked me to unlock the phone with the prompt "unlock - cancel - emergency call" To make a long story short I entered the wrong password and I gather 9 attempts were before that one. So now the phone doesn't boot up but comes up with a code "705" with a circle and slash and an identifiable symbol within. I went to the Nextel store the guy looked at it like it was from area 51 and said I've never seen anything like that before. He said I would need to send it out to be "repaired'. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Especially since my girlfriend had some important info on it and is blamming me for the thought it might be lost!! Thanks!!

Just a liitle more info would be helpful. What type of sim card did you put in it. If you entered the code 10 times it wiped the device. Do a java loader wipe and reinstall the OS and should be good to go as long as you are going to use a nextel sim card.

Yea, who entered the wrong password the first 9 times?

Now you have "wiped" the BB. All her personal information is gone. Kiss it goodbye, it cannot be retrieved. The BB is designed this way in case of theft or loss.

As Dawg referred...
