Default I tried the Wing and I am here to repent

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all.

I am a newbie that has been lurking as a guest for quite a while now.

I do a lot in Windows, so I figured I would try out the Wing and boy was that a mistake.

Needless to say, but I have repented and reinserted my sim card back into my 7290. Happy to be back.

Cant wait for the Curve on T Mob for the next upgrade we do.

We all get enticed, but in the end, we come back to steady betty, the old BB.

I would be interested in your feedback too. One of my guys and I are always debating windows vs. BB.

King-B, like your sig, very subtle, but very funny.

The long and the short of it is simply the push technology. Getting and responding to messages in a timely manner is crucial to me. The Wing just did not cut the mustard. Even though I have a send receive scheduled every five minutes, it did not work 90% of the time. I reloaded all of my email three times in a week to ensure that I did not set anything up wrong. I spent a total of fours hours on the phone with tech reps in the same week.

I would not get a message for and hour or two, but if I manually did a send and receive (S&R) I would get all of my messages. But i would have to manually S&R for each account. There is not a master S&R for all accounts.

Don't get me wrong, there is a lot I really liked about the phone, but it really did come down to reliable messaging and email.

There is a lot I do not like about the 7290, but the email does work well. I am patiently waiting to upgrade to another BB. I am reading the reviews and like the Curve. We will see which I pick.

I hope this explains why I did not like the Wing. Ask away, if you want.

I set up my work partners phone for push email and it gets there pretty quickly. I tried to get her to get a berry, but she said the wing was "cute."

The problems with the wing are that it is slow (typical windows problem) and the battery life sucks.
