Question Message Reconciliation between 7100g and Desktop

Please Login to Remove!

All:

My Setup...
BB7100g running 4.0.0.219
BES server (I am not sure what version... how do you find out?)
Message Settings...
Hide Filed Messages = True
Email Reconciliation
Message Services = My Desk
Delete On = Handheld
Wireless Reconcile = On
On Conflicts = Mailbox Wins
My problem...
1) When I read messages on my mailbox or mark them as read, they still rmain as new in my BB Inbox. How do I get it to automatically become read when I have read them on my desktop. HOW?

2) When I delete or file the messages away on my desktop, they still remain in my BB Inbox. I want these to go away from the Inbox when I have moved them out of the Inbox on my desktop. HOW?

I have tried the following.
1) In the Inbox on the BB, I have clicked the wheel and choosen reconcile now... no effect.
2) I have done the above filing, deletion, reading of the messages, then connected my BB to the PC to sync up.... still the messages remain.
3) I have had my BB connected to the PC while reading, deleting, filing the mseeages on my desktop, and still they don't go away...

Please help... this is quite annying to have to go through the messages twice to clen them up.

Here's what I've learned from our corporate BB support guys, who I complained to about the same sort of problems. When you work in outlook and read, delete, move messages out of the inbox, you kind of expect the bb can properly reconcile. But it doesn't work exactly intuitively.

If you read it in outlook, and keep it there, no problem.
if you read it in outlook, and delete it, no problem
if you read it in outlook and move it to another folder (in my case a pst folder), the BB will not reconcile properly.

What I was told is that the software will see a message on the BB, and then look in the outlook inbox to see if its there. if it is, it keeps it on the BB. If it's not in the outlook inbox, the software looks in the outlook delete folder. if its deleted, it'll take it off the BB.

If its not in inbox or delete, it doesnt' know where it is, and leave it on the BB message list.

It doesn't seem to just compare the 2 inboxes, but actually tries to apply some logic, which doesn't necessarily make for a smooth reconciliation

The other thing I think may be true is that if the message is deleted in outlook, but unread on the BB, reconciliation doesn't remove it from the BB. Not positive here

That's probably it. I often use SHIFT+Delete in outlook to permenantly delete a message... hence it is not in my deleted items folder... That's probably why they still remain in the BB... That's dumb though... Is there any way for me to have it just keep the BB like the Inbox...

Yes that is true, but I have also read and kept it there and it is still showing as unread and I have deleted it and it is still showing as there. I have asked my IT dept. and they don't know, does anyone else have a suggestion?
