Default 8700c w/ Cingular connect to TomTom 510

Please Login to Remove!

I now have the latest 4.2.1.96 OS on my 8700c and I am trying to connect to my TomTom. I can connect via bluetooth and make / receive calls with no problem but I cannot seem to get the data services to work. I have been working on this for 3 days (searching all over the net) with no luck on how to get this to work.

I have seen where many get their 8100's and so forth to work but my TomTom is not getting a connect with the GPRS on my 8700c.

Can anyone lead me down the right now or direct me to a place that might have this info? I have used many combo's for the login script, APN and so forth but still with no luck. Here are all that I have tried (I will just put them next to each other for ease of seeing what I have entered)

APN: wap.cingular and have used isp.cingular
User Name: have used nothing, used my email addy and also [email address]
Password: CINGULAR1

Login Script: at+cgdcont=1,"IP","isp.cingular" - alsu used at+cgdcont=1,"IP","wap.cingular"

Password: Have used both *99# and *99***1#

I have also used all combo's of the above. Is there something I am missing?

Default How did you get the BB 8700c and TT 510 to pair?

When I try, I get to the point where the BB asks for a password. I give it the 0000 from the TT manual and the pairing seems to fail. I have tried several times and have still not been successful. Did you do anything special to get the pairing to work?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Arthur

Are you talking about getting the data services to work or are you just talking about getting your phone to connect to the tomtom via bluetooth?

Default Failure to pair

I can not get the BB 8700c to connect even as a standard voice phone via bluetooth to the GPS. I have tried the BB with two different GPS with Bluetooth (a Nuvi and a TomTom 510) and it has failed to connect with both.

I am not even considering trying for data connectivity at this point. I would be delighted for just plain old phone connectivity.

Thanks,

Arthur

You might want to do a search on the TomTom forums on this subject, you may find your answer there. TomTom Forums.com - Unofficial Site of TomTom for North America - Powered by vBulletin They are very nice and helpful over there.
