Default Alternative to desktop redirector

My organization doesnt run BES on our exchange server; IT group is pretty committed to windows mobile. I have been using the samsung i600 and dont like it and am looking at going back to the pearl. But my desktop director doesnt work more than it works (no error message; just shuts down during the calendar update) so that's frustrating.

is there any service that would allow me to use hosted BES and tie into my company exchange server?

(im not technical, just a heavy BB user so sorry if ive asked a totally ridiculous question)

If your company allows for POP or web access to email, then a hosted BES might work,

How about BIS. You would get email and would have to sync contacts and calendar with your PC, not OTA as with BES.. But it would save you about $20 a month in hosted BES charges and $10 a month on the data plan itself.
