Default Password Keeper

Please Login to Remove!

I'm sure this has been asked before but I came up empty on a search.

What happens when you unsucessfully try to enter your password after 10 times?? Will it reset/erase all by itself and let you start over..or will it disable itself and force you to reload the software?? I am currently on attempt number 7 of 10.

Reason I ask... I was playing with Password Keeper wondering if I should bother loading it up given there is no easy way to do it other than manually. Its a corporate BB so I am restricted in what I can downlaod - not even sure I can reload an app. I have no important entires in there - I simply entered two test entries about a month ago. I want to play again, but naturally, I cant remember the password!!

How do I get back to a fresh start??

Tx

MM

Default How safe is it?

OK.. found my anwsers - on mine, it resets itself completely, to allow me back in - appears to be a start fresh - no entries (although I read elsewhere that it keeps your PK usernames but clears the PK passwords - perhaps that was an older version).

Next question is this - how safe is it! You need to get into the BB itself and then into the PK itself ( I'm thinking to reduce attempts to 3 to allow for typos but no more), so it would seem to be safe, but if lost, can a hacker get in to it easily???MM

If you use a good password with plenty of letters/numbers, it would be near imporssible to get into the password keeper. Putting the wrong code in 120 times will start the password keeper all over again with zero entries and no password. It si just like you have never used it before.

If you have a good long password, I would not worry about anyone getting into your stuff. I have used it and love it as I hate to lock my device. Being able to use my device and enjoy it is important. Everything sensitive goes into the password keeper.

Worry not!

FWIW: I thought PK was a weak application at best. I have installed (if your BES admin will let you it is well worth it) Asendo DataVault and it ROCKS!

You can manage it from the desktop and with almost limitless templates you can create there is so much more you can do with it than the default PK.

Just my 2 bits. That and ten dollars with get you a small cup of coffee at starbucks.

Splash ID is also great.

That's the problem, BES admin wont let me install anything.

Question - Am I correct in assuming there no desktop version of PK and no way to import data..ie . you must manually input everything - correct??

No synch to desktop -- only to BES as backup.

That's why Splash ID is great, you get both a mobile client and a desktop client that both sync up.

Yeah i use splash id, It is one of the best programs. Only thing i suggest is backing up the splash id saved folder, where everything is stored. I have had times, where splash deltes everything if i upgrade my bbry or reset it, when they do thier first sync with the computer.
