Back around June 11 NTT DoCoMo announced that they were going to start taking preorders of an 8707h with Japanese input included, to ship some time this summer.

I would really like to get ahold of this for my 8700c (assuming it will work) and would like to put out a call to the BBForums community to keep an eye out for it. I can't afford to actually pay someone to find it, but my eternal gratitude will be yours.

It won't work. You'd need the handheld code for the 8707h, which won't load on the 8700c.
