Default Keyboard Locking on 8700c with

Please Login to Remove!

I decided to upgrade my blackberry 8700 to the 4.2os for whatever reason...

The upgrade went in successfully but I have an annoying problem with locking my keypad. I set the front convenience button to lock the keyboard the same way I had it in 4.1. Usually to unlock I would push the wheel in twice to unlock... the first one to present the screen (unlock - emergency call - cancel) the the second push to choose unlock.

Now when I do that same function... I get the unlock - emergency call - cancel window then afterwards I get the push * and green button to unlock keypad.

Basically I have to do two seperate things to unlock the keypad since upgrading to 4.2 and it's rather annoying.

I did the same thing on the 8700c with the one step to unlock. Now Im on the curve and it does the same two process thing to unlock. I was actually looking to find the setting as I imagine there has to be a way to change it.

That's the way it is in 4.2.0+. Nothing you can do to change it.
The best work around I've seen is to set a 1 character password and just enter it to unlock. For example if you chose p you just hit "p" then enter to unlock. No need to even touch the trackwheel

like perfect storm said its normal on 4.2 ... im forced to use a password via thanks to BES policy so i simply type the 4 letter pass and just hit enter... never really needed to use the wheel but i can see how it can be annoying to others
