Well, can it be done and how?

I'm sure it can be done...but I would just change to a different theme in which bb messenger is on the mainpage....and then hide all apps you dont use.

I'm not sure it can be done right now. This is theme driven and there are no options as to what you can hide/not hide.

Go to the ICON you want to move. Click the key next to the send key and select Move. Then move it to the first 5 and when at home screen you see this icon...This is if you have a 8830 and I think it will work on a 8800...

that doesn't make much sense. the icon I'm trying to move is inside the applications folder (which IS on the main screen). going into the applications folder and moving the blackberry app around doesn't do anything but...well you get it.

You do mean the "Main Screen" as in the screen that has 5 icons and the applications icon? If you go to the icon that you want to see on that screen, click the options button (button to the left of the trackball) select move, roll it up to the top of the icons so that it is one of the first 5 that are on the screen horizontally, click the trackball to "drop" the icon there, and press escape. The icon should then be on that "Main Screen".

In non 4.2.2 software (ie device other than the 8300 and 8830) items cannot be moved in and out of folders.

ive just updated my curve to the newest bell mobilty os and i used to be able to move apps around in and out of folders....i can move apps FROM the home screen into the applications folder, but once its in there i have no way of moving it back...any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is reset your theme to another and then change the theme back. Not an ideal solution but one at that.
