Hello i am pretty new to this forum. I had a blackberry a long time ago for a short period of time and i just got the new sprint 8830. i have a few questions that i hope you BB experts can help me with.

1.) what is the best video converting software for the bb, i want to be able to watch videos off my card

2.) some websites give me an error saying "java script is not enabled" but i javascript location support enabled under the browser>options>General Properties tab? is there anything else i need to do?

3.) can i change what apps appear in my home screen on the left hand side?

4.) how do i delete programs that i put on the phone

any help would be appreciated. thanks

1) The best, and easiest video converting software is the Roxio software that comes with the BB Desktop Manager version 4.2.2. You just move a video file from your PC to the BB and it optimizes it for playback on the BB. It won't just take anything as the input file though. You may need to convert to AVI or MP4 first.

2) Try Options->Browser Config->Support JavaScript checkbox

3) The way that applications appear on your home screen are controlled by your theme. Try changing themes. You can press the menu key while on the home screen and move or hide icons.

4) You can delete applications by going into Options->Advanced->Applications and then selecting an app and pressing the menu key. Just be careful what you delete!

Thanks. Everything you suggested worked like a charm! The only other question I have is what type of ringtons will the bb play (wav, mp3, etc...) And how do you load them onto the phone? Thanks again

It should play both MP3 & Wav files. If you have a MicroSD card you can store them there. Storage is limited in device memory if you don't add a card, but you can load smallish (<2MB) files to device memory. If you have a media card you can activate the storage mode option and use it like a flash drive and just copy files to the card. Without the card I think you have to use desktop manager/Roxio to move files (I could be wrong because I have a card).
