Default How do I disable special characters?

Please Login to Remove!

Just swapped and reprogrammed a blackberry and I can't seem to find out how to get rid of all those special characters. How do I reduce down to just the english alphabet and punctuation marks and get rid of all those exotic characters?

It is set on English (united states), but when I am typing, various special characters want to autofill. If I mistype something and delete the character, it starts filling in with special language characters. For ex when I type A the options appear as a, s, ae, a with a colon above, and a with an accent.
