Question 8830 Outdoor screen viewing

Please Login to Remove!

I use my 8830 outdoors a lot. I find the screen not to be as legible as my 8703e or a colleague's 8300.

I would compare it more to a 7103e which I used previously.

I like the 8830 and thinks it's best Blackberry I have owned but I feel it's ouitdoor screen legibility is poor aan a step backward from the 8703e. (I have the backlighting turned up all the way)

Indoors - the screen is excellent!

Interesting. I think the 8830 is one of the best phones in terms of sunlight readability, I have ever used.

I'll have to agree with you roofus. There is something about the reflection off the face or something. I usually end up pressing the Power button a couple of times to get the backlight to come up to full brightness when I take it out of the holster.

Ditto on pressing the power button: you can cycle from auto-light adjustment to full brightness to lights-out (same as LCD timeout).
