Default Name not showing when called from local contact

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone! I have an Unlocked 8800 that was originally from T-Mobile. I now use it abroad. All my contacts are saved in international format, i.e. +xxx xxx xxxx
When I receive a call from one of the contacts in the country I'm presently the number appears on my screen in local format instead of the name.

Any ideas or tricks about this?

Yours,

Fahd

Phone > Options > Smart Dialing. Set the Country code there in this format: "+xx" where xx is the country code, two or three digits.

Dear Joe,

Thank you very much for your email.

First the good news, I've removed the IT policy successfully - thank you very much.

Now the bad news, on both my 8800 and 8700g I have the same problem with the international prefixes.

I've removed the international prefix from my wife's contact and called my phone - the name shows up fine.

When I add back the international prefix and call myself again it comes up only with the local number.

Yours,

Fahd

So, can't you leave the international prefix OFF her contact entry (and the others in your contacts who have that prefix?, as long as you have the international prefix in YOUR Smart Dialing, you should be good to go.
