This site is great, thanks to everyone for all the info.

I have a few questions that I haven't been able to find answers to:
1) I downloaded AIM, but when I try to open it I get a message saying go to blackberry.com/aim to activate. Although, nothing is on that page, except for the link to download the software. Anyone get AIM to work on their device?

2) I imported my address book and contacts from Palm desktop via the BB DM and then sync'd with my 8830. The calendar only synced future appointments, not my history, is there a way to sync all those old appointments?

3) I notice when the phone is in and out of service the trackball response time is slow, does anyone else notice that?

Thanks!
Jason

The AIM issue sounds like the same thing when they first offered Yahoo messenger which is the software is out but the service books aren't on your BB yet. You can try resending your service books or reinstalling AIM. If that doesn't work then it may just take some time before they get their act straight.

Sorry I cant offer any help on the sync issue.

Thanks.
Also, I think I read on here it isn't possible, but maybe there has been a fix- any way to turn off the key tone when dialing a phone number? I have the general key tones off, but when I'm in the phone screen and dialing each key press gives a tone.

Thnx

I have read elsewhere that there is no fix for that

The AIM software is still new for all BB users; I ran into problems with my old 8703e and my 8830. On the 8703e I only got my mobile users buddy list, and on the 8830 I get the "please visit blackberry.com/aim" error everyone else is getting.
