Default 7100t - can't sync with outlook

I just got my 7100t today. I charged it up, loaded the software and I"m ready to go. However I"m finding a major problem. When I try to set up my sync to Outlook 2003, nothing happens.

In the desktop manager version 4.0.0.30, I try to set up the PIM. I select Outlook for the address or calendar. Then it just disappears and shuts down. Any thoughts?

All assistance is most appreciated!
