Default Stumbled on to defective 8800's A LOT OF THEM

Please Login to Remove!

Went to the local indirect dealer for tmo
This weekend to buy an 8800 @ invoice .

Well, I open the box, get ready to sync it, and the USB fails to detect. Ii tell the GM who is an aquaintance of mine that I'll troubleshoot t @ work. I reinstall and upgrade to the latest software but 4 hours later after burning through 4 tech suport guys @ rim they rule that the unit is defective. The USB port on the device will NOT read on any desktop or laptop computer. The bluetooth and everthing else works.

So I go back to the store on fri, turn it in, and wait for the replacement.

The replacement came from the same warehouse that the defective one came from.
and the replacement exibits the exact same symptoms. I tried it on my laptop and the store's desktop.

I call RIM yet agian.

Eventually, after talking with tech support and confirming faulty hardware (again) the tech goes to his intermediate.

I'm soon on the line with blackberry customer care.

So I tell them both defective phones from the same store came form the same warehouse and raise the question if it is possible for entire lots to bad?

She said it was rare and they find it wierd.

Well Saturday afternoon I get a call form the GM. Apparently I called it. The warehouse had an ENTIRE bad shipment of 8800s. RIM is sending a new shipment which should be in by Monday.

The GM told me that RIM is DEEPLY embarassed by this.

Sorry about that. Windows file got corrupted to the point to where I had to reformat and reinstall.
I'm still recovering right now. MS office-- No word & NO spell check.

Lol 1337 spak pronounced (leet speak) was ivented by colege stustens an used frequnetly on hacking message moards. It is an alpha numeric laguage were numbers and ascci charters replace letters.

EG

4=A
3=E
1=E
7=T
S=$

It has also been the topic ov news stories that adults having childeren or tha send and red text messages or emails. Be inclied to learn this language. Not only to interact with youth more but to help prtect against sex predators. Be cause THEY know this lingo to bait teens.

I use it caus I visit a lot of hacking boards an underground sites.
