Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I searched but can't seem to find an answer. Is there a shortcut for silencing my 8830 before I go into a meeting? I only know now to select the silent profile from the profile menu.

that's it. you can shorten the process by making the Profiles set to your convenience key on the left, or simply tapping the shortcut "f" from the homescreen, if you have Dial from Homescreen disabled (phone > options > general options > dial from homescreen = no.

That's the only way, unfortunately. However, you can make it a little easier by doing this:

1. Hit the green phone button to take you to the phone application.

2. From the menu select Options-->General Options--> and set "Dial From Home Screen" to No.

3. From now on when you want to change profiles, just hit the "F" key on the keyboard and choose "Silent."

That way you don't have to scroll around and hit the icon.

You may have already been aware of that, but in case you weren't...that's the quickest way to do it that I've found.
