Default 8830 Keeps Losing EA - FIXED

Please Login to Remove!

My 8830 seems to be losing enterprise activation for no reason. It has happed about 4 or 5 times now since I received it last week. At first, I think it was DM that was causing it...I resinstalled DM via the instructions in my other thread here and it has been working fine..I can plug into DM and EA is still fine after I disconnect. Today though it dropped again this morning and I hadn't had it plugged into DA since yesterday.

Any ideas what could be causing this? Maybe a faulty BB? I am just wondering if this is a problem as it is a new model.

Fixed...turns out it was a setting with mailstreet.com. Their tech support is about the best I have ever used.

If you're on a PC with a connection to your BES then DM wouldn't be an issue (regardless of the option you choose when installing). Actually, even if you're on BES DM can be useful as you can adjust forwarding settings, filters and more via DM.

Hmm..not sure exactly what was happening then. This last round it was due to a setting at MailStreet (it actually wasn't losing EA as it turns out). But my initial round of problems did somehow result from using DM...everytime I plugged in it completely killed EA and I had to call and run EA again. I would call, run EA and let it get the completed message, send a few test emails which worked fine, then plug back into DM. I would copy a file to the sd card..something simple..then unplug and poof...no more EA. It would actually remove the "Activated on <DATE>" line at the end of the EA screen. Call back in, run EA again and all was fine..until I plugged into DM.

I reinstalled DM a couple times, the last time picking BES it seems to have solved my problem, although, I still don't know exactly what setting I had in there initially that was fouling everything up.
