Default Sprint 8830 Confirmed Issue with Gmail Mobile App

Please Login to Remove!

In case anyone else runs into this:

Uncaught exception:net.rim.device.api.system ControlledAccessException

This is being caused by leaving the Gmail mobile app running in the background and then putting the BB to sleep. When it comes out of sleep the above error is received very frequently. If the gmail app is shut down (on the menu it is Exit Gmail) the error doesn't show up so far for us (although we thought it occurred once due to Google Maps but haven't confirmed). If you exit the app with the escape key on the BB it leaves it running in the background. We could reproduce this on 4 different Sprint 8830's...I haven't checked the Curve I have here yet for the same behavior. Anyone else experience this with the Sprint unit at all?

Telus 8830 running 4.2.2.123 and Gmail 1.1.0 and I could not replicate this problem. When you say sleep mode do you mean standby mode initiated with the mute button?

No..by sleep mode I meant when it is put in the case and the magnet sleeps it.

The os on my sprint units are all 4.2.2.123 btw..forgot to mention that above. I am also using Gmail (beta) 1.1.0 web as well.

Interesting...maybe I just got some flaky units some how. Since yesterday, I have made sure to completely shut the gmail app each time and haven't gotten any more error messages on any of the units.
