Default Friends can't hear me.. low volume issue?

Please Login to Remove!

I've read all the threads on low volume ringer tones, and the corresponding profile and speakerphone tips to increase it. And I've read the threads on background noise and how maybe there will be a patch next month...

But, has anyone had their friends complain that they can't hear you? Or ask why you are speaking so quietly? Mine aren't complaining about background noise, but that I am speaking too softly. (I am not!)

Is this problem related to the other volume issues? Am I the only one with this problem?

I think I solved my own problem and maybe it will be of value to others:

When the phone option "enhanced audio" is enabled it acts like noise cancellation and thus dulls the background noise and at the same time makes one sound like they are speaking softly or in a cave.

Mine was on. So I suspect I will have the background noise problem next, LOL!

Jane, thanks for the update, and what you found. Let us know if it does truly improve your call quality?

Disabling Enhanced Audio did the trick for me. My friends say I sound perfect, even while driving (non-hands-free) -- no background noise, and no cave-dweller noise.

So I took the protective film off and have officially adopted the phone!

Where is this enhanced audio option? Now I want to check it out since I've never noticed the option.

I find it by selecting the phone, and pressing the Menu key (berry key?) while in that app, selecting options/enhanced audio

Anyone else have experience turning this feature off?

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the 8800 has this option.

They might not. The only reason I found the option on the 8830 is that I was reading the promotional press releases and they kept mentioning "noise cancellation" as a feature. I'm just deducing that is what "enhanced audio" is about, (because I haven't found it in a manual). If it was billed as a feature, maybe it's just on the newer 88xx serise.
