i just got this yesterday and so far i love it.

however there are a couple of things i can't get figured out. and maybe i just can't do them.

1. is there a way to keep my missed calls and vocie mails from showing up in my messages folder?

2. i set up my gmail on my blackberry, however when i get a new email it doesn't show an indicator on the gmail folder icon, instead it shows it on the messages icon.

i'm guessing everything goes through the messages icon but i was just wondering if there was a way to change these settings. i have looked and looked and can't find it.

thanks

To keep missed calls from showing up, hit the green phone button then hit the BlackBerry button and choose "Call Logging" and set it to none.

I think voice mail will always show up in your messages section.

Don't know the answer to question number 2. Sorry.

Hey, chwy. Welcome to the forums!

1. Yes. It's some settings under options. Click menu when in messages. Select options. Also, this question has been answered a few times. Try a search and sort thru the fluff.

2. What do you mean you "set up gmail on my blackberry?" There are at least 3 ways to do this. POP3? Stand-alone app? Thru browser? Where is the gmail folder icon?

By default all messages should end up in "messages." The notification icon at the top of the screen looks the same for all mail and SMS. You can set up filters, I believe, to file messages in different folders.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

As far as the G-Mail icon, the only notification you will get is what you setup in your bb profile. The icon itself will not change.

Actually, he is correct. When I get a gmail, the icon for that folder gets a little asterisk next to it, as does the main messages folder. I think this might be theme specific? I'm on Verizon theme.
