Default Problem resolving caller ID because of country code

Please Login to Remove!

My 7100v has problem resolving the SMS sender ID because of the country code in front of the numbers. If I add the country code to the numbers, it resolves fine. But when a phone call come, it won't work because there's no country code then. I have software v3.8.0.115.

Is there a way to let 7100v 'know' the country it is in so that it can automatically match entries with the address book (whether it is stored with the country code or not)? Can upgrading the software solve this problem?

Also, is there a way to disable GPRS connection or any form of data connection? I'm using the 7100v purely as a handphone, just SMS and talk. No emails and such. ('Data connection refused' appeared initially, but it has now disappeared, I'm afraid of paying for GPRS traffic that I'm not utilizing).

Ralph.
