All of a sudden my icons for the Applicaitons, Compose and Save Messages are greyed out. They still function when I click on them. How do I restore the icons?

I think they are hidden, but you have the Show All option selected. On my 8700g I would click the ATL + Trackwheel to display the menu to Hide or Unhide an icon while on the main icon screen. It might be the ALT + Trackball on your device.
