Default Instructions on how to unlock 7100t

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I just got an unlock code from T-Mobile and it seems the instructions in the email are incorrect anyone have any ideas what the right instructions are? I don't feel like waiting on the phone for an hour to get to tier 2 blackberry support. Any help would be appreciated. This is what they gave me, the alt-e for the number 2 was a give away that the instructions were for another device.

Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. Below you will see the Instructions for unlocking your Blackberry device.

NOTE: If you receive an error message while performing the instructions below, stop. Please be aware that if an excessive amount of incorrect attempts are made, the phone will be permanently locked. Verify the IMEI by pressing *#06# and submit a new request.

Warning! The Wireless Mode MUST BE OFF before performing the given SIM Unlock instructions in order to avoid causing the device from becoming defective.

How to turn Wireless Mode Off:
1. Scroll to the Airplane Icon (Turn Wireless Off.)
2. Press Select.
3. Wireless Mode will turn off.

How to SIM Unlock the device:
1. Go to the "Options" screen
2. Select the "SIM Card" option
3. Type MEPD
4. To select "Network" type MEP2 (ALT + E is the key that gives 2 when shifted)
5. Release the ALT key, it should then ask for the code
6. Enter the unlock code

How to SIM Unlock the device:

2. Select "Settings"
2. Select the "SIM Card" option
3. Type MEPPD
4. It should then display a list "SIM, Network, Network Subset, etc..."
5. To select "Network" type MEPP Alt-2
6. It should then ask for the code
7. Enter the unlock code

In case anyone needs it.

You don't. Search the forums... and you'll see why.

Sure - you can call Cingular and ask; they don't normally give the unlock code out (it is unique to every BlackBerry), but some have said they were able to get the code. They (Cingular) told us (a large corporate account) no...

Well, the porblem with Cingular is that when I contacted teir 2 rep they told me that they can not unlock the Blackberry's, I don't know if they were lying to me or not but that's what they said... There has got to be a way to unlock.... someone must know.

As I said in another thread, Cingular can unlock them, they just choose not to.
