Question Keyboard Lighting - 8800 vs 8830 - Way to improve?

Please Login to Remove!

I notice my AT&T 8800 has much better keyboard brightness than my Sprint 8830. Both have white letters/numbers as opposed to Verizon's blue (which I had to return since too hard to see at night).

I found the brightness control in Options/Screen/Keyboard and have set it at 100. But it does not seem to control the keyboard brightness. Does anyone know if there is a way to brighten the keyboard backlighting?

I also notice that on the Sprint and Verizon 8830 "World Edition" devices, that the center keys are slightly dimmer than the rest. On the 8800 all are equally bright.

Appreciate any comments.

Thanks

I had the same issue with the center keys

I suspect its because there is an array of LEDs that provide the backlight and the center one is dead.

there were some photos of a dismantled 8800 on here that showed the array.

Sprint 8830 and as far as I can tell all my keylights are about the same brightness. The only 2 keys that are not that bright are the escape key and the blackberry key(what ever you call the one to the left of the track ball)

Thanks all. I spoke with Sprint in the store about the issue but no help there. Will keep digging.
