Is the blackberry warranty only for org owner or for the device itself 1 year

I have a cingular 8800 that has 4 bad buttons tried wipe and software install

but i have cellular one service so is there a way to get this fixed via warranty .. if so how rim only allows direct if you bought it from them .

AFAIK, warranty applies to the device.

However, the seller. not RIM, handles the warranty. So if you bought from eBay and the branding is different from your current carrier, you're SOL unless the eBay seller will honour the warranty.
