Default Questions about speakers and backlight

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a new 8800 last week. Two issues

1) When I am using GPS the screen dims itself. I have gone into setup and set it to the max, 2 minutes. But I have a car charger so I am not converned about the batter. I want it to never dim while I am using GPS. Can I do this?

2) Telenav seems to always come on with volume at the max. I would not mind that except that the speakers are pretty distorted at that volume such that I cannot even understand what the lady is saying. Are my speakers bad or does everyone get this distortion?

Thanks

I also have noticed the distortion from Telenav if you don't turn the volume down a notch. Does anyone know if the Telenav voice prompts will be heard through a bluetooth handsfree kit if you have one installed? I've never used any of the handsfree car kits, but if it would give me a better speaker for her voice prompts I might just consider it so I can hear her over my radio.

As for the screen dimming, I have seen other posts on here about the auto-dimming. They mentioned upgrading the handheld software to the latest revision. I did this yesterday, upgrading to the Roger's Wireless software. I haven't tried the NAV yet since the upgrade, but I'll check it out and let you know if the screen still dims.

Well, I used my telenav yesterday after upgrading to the latest O/S. I have it set to leave the backlight always on since I generally have the device plugged in when navigating and I did not notice it dimming now.
