Default Vzw 8830

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all, I'm a newbie to BB and so far, enjoying my 8830.

My previous phone was the XV6700 so I'm used to Windows Mobile. On that phone, I was able to set Power settings. If phone was being charged, backlight was always on....if not being charged, backlight stayed on for a couple of minutes.

How can I replicate this on the 8830? I like to keep screen on while charge when I'm driving. Instead, I have to keeping hitting any button to get the screen back up.

Thanks for help and advise on this.

Options - Screen/Keyboard - Backlight gets you to your only options to this but it won't give you the always on while charging option.

You can't as it is. The backlight is designed to go off to save battery. There is a third party (free) app, BBLight, which will keep it on, if you desire, but it is not tied to the charging. BlackBerryTools OTA

You can set your backlight to stay on longer at Options > Screen/Keyboard.

Thanks...I'll check out the BBLight and see how it works.

One more stupid question: is the only way to remove a program that I downloaded is through BB Desktop?

Yes, you can delete on the BB at Options > Advanced > Applications, find it and delete. While there, click to Modules and delete any modules of the app there as well.

In Desktop Manager, just use Application Loader and delete the app you desire gone.

I never considered BBlight because I did think it would effect the charging? I assume if I install it, I sould set my regular light to shut off within the shortest time frame.
