I dont know if the LED is supposed to light up when you have it plugged in charging mine doesnt which is odd I have never had a phone that didnt light up.

Anyways my main concern is I noticed a lot of the times when I get a message the LED does not flash. Any ideas the cause? I have checked under the profiles and I have everything set to repeat notification with LED flashing.

Andrew, your LED will not light up when charging. You will see a small lightening symbol next to the battery on the homescreen to indicate it is charging.

Your LED repeat notification only continues for about 15 mins after the new message is received, then it stops, and returns back to the green signal blinking, or to nothing, according to how you have it configured.

Anyway to make it flash until you clear a message? I really like that feature on my treo.

Yep, get the third party application BBAlerts. Google or find out more about it over the Aftermarket Software section of this forum. You can make your LED all kids of colors for the type of alert you get.

I just purchased BBAlerts last night. Tried it out for 5 days before purchase, and it works with about 90% satisfaction on my part. I wish they had a customized LED for the BB IM application and once in a while the LED does not disappear after checking the IM.

I still cannot believe BlackBerry does not incorporate this into their devices automatically. It's a no brainer.

If the BlackBerry is OFF the LED will light when charging. But who turns off their BB?

True, that. I forget it does light when charging and turned off. But like you said, I never see my BB with the power off.

Mine goes off every night at 11:30 and comes on every morning at 6:00AM, so I turn it off. Otherwise, I'd have to change the profile to silent, so I don't hear the emails coming in all night long.

What kind of application BBalert is it? (.alx etc)

Um why would you do this? You go to your Profiles, down to Edit Profiles, go into the SMS messaging and enable LED indicator. Do it to whichever types of alerts you want.

They have it set up to flash the LED on any program you download. I have Yahoo, Google, AIM, and BB chat messengers and they all have their own settings under the method I just listed above.

Yea but I can do a white LED, a light blue, purple, chartreuse, dark green, etc., whatever color I want, and make the blink rate faster or slower at whatever rate I want.

As far as I know. There is a thread on this product over in the Aftermarket Software forum, you might ask the developer that question there.

Yes it does. I am using it. I love the program. I have to turn it off at night sometimes or my phone will vibrate / blink all night long :>
